Stephen Album sale 43, lot 895
Nawanagar in 1895, west of Jhalawar

This specimen was lot 895 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "NAWANAGAR: Vibhaji, 1852-1894, AR kori, VS1936 (1879), an attractive lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS62, ex Arvind Sanghvi Collection." The rulers of Nawanager were a branch of the Jams of Kutch across the Rann of Kutch. This type was struck VS 1934-1936 and has a low catalog value. Eight dokda made a kori.
