This specimen was lot 2265 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND: Charles II, 1649-1685, AE turner, 1677, crown over crossed sword and scepter // thistle, well struck, very pleasing, F-VF." The exchange rate between Scottish and English coinage varied but during this reign, 60 shillings = one English crown. At that rate, this coin would have been worth a sixth of an English penny. This type was struck 1677-79.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: copper.
