This specimen was lot 3240 in Sincona sale 33 (Zurich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEDEN. Karl IX. 1604-1611 4 Mark 1609. Stockholm. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Sweden, Charles IX, 1604-11, four mark of 1609, Stockholm mint. Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This coin was struck 1607-11; all dates are scarce or rare. Unlike the similar Norwegian four mark, this coin did not rate a Davenport number.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 19.74 g, 0.821 fine silver, this specimen 19.39 g.

Catalog reference: KM-24; SM 39.
