This specimen was lot 71485 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $336. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain|GREAT BRITAIN]]. Shilling, 1926. London Mint. PCGS MS-65 Gold Shield. Modified Effigy type. Nearly flawless with enchanting satin-like luster showcased on both sides. Among the finest seen, with this example and one other sharing this top certified grade at PCGS." The shilling was struck in sterling silver in large numbers 1911-19, then reduced to .500 fine for 1920-26. A slightly modified bust was used 1926-27, then the reverse was modified for 1927-36.
