This specimen was lot 1821 in Jean Elsen sale 144 (Brussels, March 2020), where it sold for €240 (about US$316 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, UTRECHT, Provincie, AR Nederlandse rijksdaalder, 1613. Vz/ Geharnast bb. r. met zwaard en provinciewapen. Kz/ Gekroond Generaliteitswapen. Zeldzaam Barstjes. Zeer Fraai. (Netherlands, province of Utrecht, Dutch rixdollar of 1613. Obverse: armored and laureate bust with sword and provincial arms; reverse: arms of the Generality. Rare date, Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1606-31, 1648, 1687-88 and in a modified form (Dav-4838) 1650-61, 1668, 1683-88, 1693-1700. It is roughly the same rarity as the prinsen rijksdaalders of Zeeland (Dav-4844) and Westfriesland (Dav-4842).
Recorded mintage: unknown but not rare.
Specification: 29.03 g, 0.885 fine silver, this specimen 28,25 g.
