Künker sale 293, lot 122

This specimen was lot 122 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €400 (about US$539 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"BADEN, BADEN-DURLACH, MARKGRAFSCHAFT, Karl Friedrich, 1746-1811. 1/2 Konv.-Taler 1778, Durlach. Hübsche Patina, vorzüglich. (margraviate of Baden-Durlach, Charles Frederick, 1746-1811, half thaler of 1778, Durlach mint. Handsome patina, extremely fine.)"

This type was also minted in 1774 and 1779. It is the last half thaler of the 18th century.

Specification: 14.03 g, 0.833 fine silver.
