This specimen was lot 3022 in Sincona sale 64 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 300 CHF (about US$376 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Aargau | Kanton, Rappen 1811, Aarau. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. (canton of Aargau, rappen of 1811, Aarau mint. Rare in this condition, Uncirculated.)"
Aargau, a small canton on the Rhine between Zurich and Basel, struck coins until 1831. This type was struck 1809, 1811, 1816. The monetary system was 4 pfennig = 1 kreuzer, 4 kreuzer = 1 batzen, 10 batzen = 1 franken.
