Sincona sale 80, lot 5133

This specimen was lot 5133 in Sincona sale 80 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 2,900 CHF (about US$3,476 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Geneva | Stadt und Kanton, 2 Quarts (1/2 Sol oder 6 Deniers) 1750 G, Genf. Goldabschlag [struck in gold]. Extremely rare. Very fine-extremely fine." This type was struck in billon in 1750. Silver and gold strikes were made for presentation.
