This sol was struck in Lima in 1924-25, 1930-35 for Peru. This billon coin replaced a 0.900 fine silver one sol struck in large numbers 1865-1916. In 1935, all silver was removed from the coinage.
Recorded mintage: 5,000 (lowest mintage date).
Specification: 25 g, 0.500 fine silver, reeded edge.
