This specimen is a later date of a series of bronze centavos issued in Peru 1901-49. Numerous varieties exist, depending on the spacing and size of the legends. This "straight centavo" is considerably scarcer than the "curved centavo" type.

Recorded mintage: 275,000 including KM 211 (thin planchet).

Specification: bronze, 19.5 mm diameter.
