This specimen was lot 1799 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 1,400 CHF (about US$1,679 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Ferdinand III. 1637-1657 Dukat 1655. KB-Kremnitz. Sehr schön. (kingdom of Hungary, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, ducat of 1655, Kremnitz mint. Very fine.)"
The Kremnitz mint struck this type for Ferdinand III of Austria 1638-59 but it is still scarce.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, this specimen 3.40 g.
