Heritage sale 3035, part of lot 32582
Austria H3035-32582l.jpg

This type was struck in 1937 to commemorate the bicentennial of the Karlskirche in Vienna. This specimen was part of lot 32582 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), which sold for $822.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic Two Schilling Set 1928-1937, All coins UNC. Each portrays a famous individual or place in local history. One commemorative was produced each year." In 1925, the currency was reformed with 100 kronen (old) = one groschen (new) and 100 groschen = one schilling.

Recorded mintage: 500,000 including a few proofs.

Specification: 12 g, 0.640 fine silver, .245 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: Herinek 32, KM 2859.
