This type was struck for the kingdom of Bulgaria in 1910 only. Despite the limited mintage, it is noted as common in all grades. The last silver lev was issued in 1916. This specimen was lot 30517 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand I Proof Lev 1910 PR63 Cameo PCGS. Deeply reflective in the fields and richly toned over both sides with impressive iridescent hues of blue, rose and green tone that blanket the surfaces. Extremely rare in this presentation format and the first we have encountered."
Recorded mintage: 3,000,000.
Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, .133 troy oz ASW, 23 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 28.
