This specimen was lot 34067 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $6,300. The catalog description[1] noted, "Netherlands: Utrecht. Provincial silver Double Ducaton (2 Silver Rider) 1774 MS61 NGC. Oblique milling left. An extremely rare date for this double-weight type. Exemplary strike, seemingly cleaned and now retoned in dove gray, pleasantly devoid of the expected hairlines that normally accompany the designation." Single ducatons were struck in this style 1739-94. Double ducatons aren't listed in the SCWC but are well attested for many dates.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 65.56 g, 0.941 fine silver; this specimen 65.19 g, 44 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: cf. KM-P66 (1775), Dav-1831, Delm-1031a (R2).
