Steve Album sale 39, lot 3349

This specimen was lot 3349 in Stephen Album sale 39 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $96. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Muhammad Reza Shah, 1941-1979, 10 rials, SH1326, a lovely example for type! PCGS graded MS65." This type was struck SH 1323-1326 (1944-47) and the other dates are common. It was superseded by a copper-nickel type (KM 1177) of SH 1333-1343.

Recorded Mintage: unknown but the scarcest date.

Specification: 16 g, 0.600 fine silver, 32 mm diameter.
