Sincona sale 81, lot 6119

This specimen was lot 6119 in Sincona sale 81 (Zurich, October 2022), where it sold for 120 CHF (about US$144 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND | Lucerne | Stadt und Kanton, Dicken 1623, Luzern. Good very fine." This type was struck 1623, 1647 and 1656 and was the last dicken struck by this canton in the seventeenth century. Coinage of this canton is generally scanty.
