This type was struck in Rome for the tiny republic of San Marino in 1931-38. The mintage is low but many were saved as souvenirs so the type is available in lightly circulated condition. It is accompanied by silver ten (KM 10) and twenty lire (KM 11).
Recorded mintage: 120,000.
Specification: 5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 23 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 9.
