This specimen was lot 23320 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $3,818.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Jose I gold 6400 Reis 1756-R, KM 172.2, MS64 NGC, a choice example with full glowing mint brilliance and only faint adjustment marks on the reverse." This type was struck 1751-77 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil.

Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW.
