This specimen was lot 56892 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $720. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "GREECE. Lepton, 1830. PCGS AU-50. Solid circle variety." After wresting her independence from the Turks, Greece was established as a republic under John Capodistrias. This regime lasted until 1831, during which time copper one, five, ten and twenty lepta were issued. All are scarce. This type, with a solid circle around the phoenix, was struck 1828 and 1830.
