This specimen was lot 1123 in Jean Elsen sale 123 (Brussels, December 2014), where it sold for €120 (about US$174 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE-COBOURG-GOTHA, Ernst II (1844-1893), AR Taler, 1869 B, 25e anniversaire de règne. Très Beau. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Ernest II (1844-93), silver thaler of 1869, on the 25th anniversary of his reign, very fine.)"
This product of the Dresden mint was issued 1869 only and is an affordable thaler from this locale. Duke Ernst was the older brother of prince Albert, husband to queen Victoria.
