Sincona sale 86, lot 1821

This specimen was lot 1821 in Sincona sale 86 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$4,040 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Elizabeth II. 1952-2022. Proof 5 Pounds 2014, Royal Mint Llantrisant. Gold. Commemorating Queen Anne's 300th anniversary of death. NGC PF70 ULTRA CAMEO. With original box and certificate. No. 185 of 375 limited edition presentations."

Queen Anne's death in 1714 ended the Stuart dynasty and admitted the Hanoverians to the throne, from whom queen Elizabeth was descended.

Specification: 39.97 g, 0.917 fine gold, 36 mm diameter, this specimen 39.95 g.
