This specimen was lot 12167 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $499. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Pahlavi, SH 1323 (1944). PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder." This type, struck SH 1320-1324 during the reign of Muhammed Reza Shah (r. 1941-79), was minted to the standard of a British sovereign. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
