This specimen was lot 43306 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2019), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Portuguese India. Goa. 1/2 Pardao, 1857. NGC MS-61. Sharp in the centers with deep, glossy tone that blankets the surfaces. Ex: Huntington Collection Inventory #12607." This is the last issue of the denomination. In 1871, the Goa mint was closed and milled coinage from the British mints was introduced.
