GB G110-2386r.jpg

This specimen was lot 2386 in Goldberg sale 110 (Los Angeles, June 2019), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Shilling, 1883. Victoria. Obverse: Wyon's young head portrait of queen. Reverse: value within wreath. NGC graded MS-64." This type was struck 1879-87 as the final issue of the young head type first struck in 1838. Specification: 5.65 g, 0.925 fine silver, .168 troy oz ASW, 23.6 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: S.3907; ESC-1342; KM-734.4.
