This specimen was lot 31038 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $8,812.50. The catalog description^[1] noted, "George III Proof 6 Shillings Bank Token 1804 PR66 NGC. Spectacular in every way, this large Bank of Ireland token is aglow in beautiful watercolor iridescence. With its bold strike and incredibly sharp intricate detail, this wholly original example demands your attention at every turn. This could very well be a singular opportunity to own a coin of this status which is currently tied for the finest-known certified example. Sold with original Baldwin & Sons envelope." Restrikes exist in copper, gilt copper and bronze plated copper.
