This specimen was lot 30534 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $793.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cologne-Archbishopric. Dietrich II von Mörs (1414-63) Goldgulden 1414-19, Bonn mint, AU55 NGC. Obv. ThЄODI | C ? AR' ЄPI | COLOnI, quartered arms of Cologne-Mörs in angled trilobe between Trier, Cologne, and a rosette. Rev. MOnЄTA | BVInSIS (Two-headed eagle), St. John standing with left hand raised, a scepter in his right hand. A bright and well-detailed specimen, this coin has been overstruck on an undetermined goldgulden. Portions of the original coin ghost slightly through the overstrike. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." Both the city and the archbishop of Cologne (or Koln) issued gold ducats and it takes a keen eye to tell them apart.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-793.
