This specimen was lot 31004 in Heritage auction 3096 (Dallas, TX, March 2021), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alderney: British Dependency. Elizabeth II gold Proof "Queen Mother" 5 Pounds 1995 PR68 Ultra Cameo NGC. Depicting a frosted vignette of the Queen Mother with children against deeply mirrored fields, this large planchet issue allows for an appropriate amount of negative space to highlight Elizabeth's bust. AGW 1.4000 oz. From the Paramount Collection." Alderney was not granted the right to coin until 1989, and has used it only to issue NCLT's. This one honors the Queen Mother.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common in copper-nickel, 10,000 in silver and 150 in gold.
Specification: KM 13: 28.28 g, copper-nickel, 38.6 mm diameter; KM 13a: 28.28 g, 0.925 fine silver; KM 13b: 47.54 g, 0.917 fine gold, AGW 1.4000 oz.
Catalog reference: copper-nickel: KM 14; silver: KM 14a; gold: KM 14b, Fr-11.
