Sincona sale 66, lot 1107

This specimen was lot 1107 in Sincona sale 66 (Zurich, October 2020), where it sold for 230 CHF (about US$303 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"CHINA | Volksrepublik. 1 Yuan 1984. Panda. Polierte Platte. (Peopel's Republic of China, one yuan of 1984, panda. Proof.)"

This type was struck 1983-84 as a precursor to the long running series of panda bullion coins in silver and gold.

Recorded mintage: 30,000 proofs.

Specification: brass.
