The specimen shown is a type struck in Chile 1920-41. It superseded a debased silver type struck 1908-20 (KM 156). This type is the last of its denomination prior to the reform of 1960. Oscar Roty's defiant condor, first used in 1895, appeared on virtually all Chilean silver and copper-nickel coins until 1940.
