This specimen was lot 2297 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "PAPAL STATES: Pius IX, 1846-1870, AR 20 baiocchi, Rome, 1866 year XX, a wonderful mint state example! PCGS graded MS64, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type of 1865-66 is the final issue of this denomination. In 1866, the Papal states dropped the scudo and its subdivision the baiocco in favor of the lira used in the rest of Italy (one scudo = 5.375 lire).
