This specimen was lot 23778 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $576. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 1914. London Mint. NGC MS-64. A wholesome example with lustrous surfaces and a hint of tone offer a pleasing appearance. From the Collection of Richard Jewell." Sovereigns were struck for George V at London 1911-17 and 1925. This is a common date altho the Australian sovereigns are more often seen.
Recorded mintage: 11,501,000.
Specification: 7.99 g, 0.917 fine gold, 22 mm diameter, 0.2355 troy oz AGW.
