from the Mountain Groan Collection

This type was struck 1838-60 and is the first type for Queen Victoria (r. 1837-1901). It is not rare but a challenge to find in nice condition, especially as the pure copper composition wore rapidly in circulation.

Recorded mintage: 1,290,000.

Specification: 4.4 g, copper.

Catalog reference: KM 725.
