This type was struck 1792-1808 at Santiago and is rare. This specimen was lot 89 in Sedwick sale 9 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description^[1] noted, "Santiago, Chile, bust 4 escudos, Charles IV, 1808/7FJ. Bold strike, lustrous XF with weak bust, scratched in front of face, rim somewhat crude (as made), bold overdate (seems just as much 7/8 as 8/7), scarce type."

Specification: 13.53 g, .875 fine gold, .380 troy oz AGW, this specimen 13.2 grams.
