The first specimen was lot 73508 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $192. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Spain|SPAIN]]. Catalonia. 3 Quartos, 1841. Isabel II. NGC MS-64 Brown. An alluring provincial issue, this deep violet-brown near Gem is exceeded in the NGC census by just one specimen. Ex: R. L. Lissner Collection." The second specimen was lot 72330 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[2]</sup> noted, "SPAIN. Catalonia. 3 Quartos, 1841. Isabel II. PCGS AU-58. Nearly Mint State, this example displays a strong strike with evident luster in the fields." This copper coin was issued from Barcelona for use there and in [[Coinage of Catalonia|Catalonia]]. It was issued 1836-46 and accompanied by a copper [[Catalonia 1841 6 cuartos|six cuartos]].
