Sincona sale 9, lot 3972

This specimen was lot 3972 in Sincona sale 9 (Zurich, October 2012), where it sold for 1600 CHF (about US$2,024 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Lübeck, Hansestadt Münzstätte Berlin 5 Mark 1913. Minim. Berührungsspuren. Polierte Platte. FDC. (Free city of Lubeck, five mark of 1913, Berlin mint, tiny mount mark, proof.)"

This type was struck intermittently 1904-1913. It is scarce.

Recorded mintage: 6,000.

Specification: 27.77 g, .900 fine silver, 38 mm diameter.
