This specimen was lot 1219 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $105.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXONY: Frederick Augustus I, 1806-1827, AR 1/24 thaler, 1817, mintmaster IGS, PCGS graded MS64, ex Don Erickson Collection." This type was struck 1816-18 and is fairly common. It accompanied a 1/12 thaler (KM 1049.1), 1/6 thaler (KM 1050), 1/13 thaler (KM 1051.1), 2/3 thaler (KM 1052) and thaler (KM 1061).

Recorded mintage: 252,000.

Specification: 1.98 g, .368 fine silver.
