Stack's Bowers ANA sale, lot 1515

This specimen was lot 1515 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 5 Kopek, 1860-EM. Ekaterinburg Mint. PCGS MS-62 BN Secure Holder. Even chocolate toning with a few hints of mint luster." This copper five kopeks was issued in large numbers by the Ekaterinburg mint 1859-67 and succeeded a similar type of 1850-59. The mint ceased to issue five kopeks in 1876.

Recorded mintage: 25,260,000.

Specification: copper.
