This specimen was lot 4007 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €3,000 (about US$3,926 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÜBECK, STADT. Taler 1537, mit Titel Karls V. und Abzeichen des Bürgermeisters Nicolaus Brömse. Dritter Brömsentaler. RR Hübsche Patina, winz. Sammlerzeichen, sehr schön +. In der Vorderseitenumschrift dieses seltenen Talers mit dem Porträt Kaiser Karls V. ist eine Stechfliege ("Bremse") zu sehen, das "redende" Wappen des Bürgermeisters Nicolaus Brömse. (Germany, city of Lubeck, thaler of 1537, in the name of Charles V and the badge of mayor Nicolaus Brömse. Rare, nice patina, very fine or better. The obverse of this rare thaler shows a biting fly--bremse--a pun on the mayor's name.)"
