Lubeck 1546 thaler Dav-9403
This specimen was lot 985 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €700 (about US$944 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LÜBECK, STADT, Taler 1546, mit dem Abzeichen des Bürgermeisters Gotthard von Höveln. Attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Tönung, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Exemplar der Slg. Bernhard Terletzki. Erworben im April 1970 von der Galerie des Monnaies, Düsseldorf. (Germany, city of Lubeck, thaler of 1546, with the initials of mayor Gotthard of Hoveln. Attractive example with fine toning, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This one year type is fairly available. It was accompanied by a double thaler (Dav-9402).
