Stack's Bowers April 2021 Hong Kong sale, lot 55144

This specimen was lot 55144 in Stack's Bowers Hong Kong auction (Hong Kong, April 2021), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Hunan. 10 Cash, ND (1902-06). PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. Variety with dot between Manchu characters. A sharply detailed example of the type with dark chocolate brown patina and no significant marks in the fields." This type was struck in many varieties. Another ten cash (Y-113) features a side-facing dragon.
