This specimen was lot 72675 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $384. The catalog description[1] noted, "NORWAY. Nickel-Brass 50 Ore, 1942. London Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A RARE issue, with all but 9,236 piece from the original mintage melted. Struck in London while the government was exile during World War II." This issue, along with a ten øre (KM 391) and a 25 øre (KM 392), was minted in London for the government in exile but never issued. The Nazis issued a zinc fifty ore 1941-45 (KM 390).
