This specimen was lot 11343 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $1,320. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1792-JF 4 Escudos. Popayán mint. Carlos IV (1788-1808). Restrepo M94.2. AU-53 (PCGS). Lustrous and attractive light yellow gold with good originality and eye appeal. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian and Ecuadorian Coins. From Houston Numismatic Exchange, June 1970." This is the first year for the "standard bust" of Charles IV, used at Popayan 1792-1802.

Specification: 13.53 g, .875 fine gold, .380 troy oz AGW.
