This specimen was lot 1665 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$300 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANKREICH, Konigreich, Louis XIV. 1643-1715. Ecu aux insignes 1702 T, Nantes. Réformation. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of France, Louis XIV, 1643-1715, écu of the insignia of 1702, Nantes mint, reformed. Very fine-extremely fine.)"
The specimen shown is an écu aux insignes ("écu with insignia") struck in Nantes during the reign of Louis XIV. This type was struck 1701-04 in substantial quantities, mostly overstriking older écus ("flans reformés"--see the specimen shown for the visible undertype). It was succeeded by the écu aux 8 L, 2éme type. Droulers[2] prices this date as a common date, but even a common date is priced 40% higher than an écu à la mèche longue.
Recorded mintage: 24,467 on new blanks plus 624,261 "reformed". The rf is the most common date of the type after the 1702-A.
Specification: 27.45 g, .917 fine silver; this specimen 27.22 g.
