This specimen was lot 49 in Schulman auction 388 (Amsterdam, December 2025), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,945 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Dubbele dukaat, HOLLAND Provincie 1581 - 1795, 1661, Gold Type Ia. Staande ridder met Spaanse helm, zwaard en pijlenbundel, met omschrift tussen de voeten en geparelde binnencirkel. ❀ CONCORDIA. RE - S . P - ARVAE. CRES. HOL.. Kz. versierd vierkant met tekst MO. AVR etc. Gladde rand. Slechts eenmaal eerder door ons verhandeld in 1976; dat stuk ging uiteindelijk naar de collectie van de Nederlandsche Bank. Ontbrekend in de collecties Rijnbende en Stephanik. RRR. Uiterst zeldzaam jaartal. Prachtig. (double ducat of 1661, province of Holland, type Ia. Obverse: standing knight with Spanish helmet, sword and bundle of arrows within inner circle; reverse: inscription on square tablet, plain edge. Sold by us only once previously, in 1976; that specific piece ultimately entered the collection of the Dutch Central Bank. Absent from the Rijnbende and Stephanik collections. An extremely rare date, Extremely fine.)"

This type is listed for 1645-63. A refined design was struck 1671-1793 and is fairly common for double ducats.
