This specimen was lot 2969 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXE-HILDBURGHAUSEN: Ernst Friedrich III, 1745-1780, BI 1/24 thaler, 1760, a lovely lustrous mint state example! PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1760, Saxe-Hildburghausen was suffering from deep debt and economic decline under Duke Ernst Frederich III, while also feeling the indirect strain of the Seven Years’ War. The duchy was under imperial financial oversight and had little autonomy." This type was struck 1759-60 along with KM 75 and KM 76. One thaler was 24 groschen.
