The first specimen is the first variety listed in Cahn and, among other slight differences, it has a wavy base to the 2 representing the value. This was lot 6854 in Künker eLive Auction 78 (Osnabrück, July 2023), where it sold for €114 (about US$134 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"EICHSTÄTT. BISTUM. Johann Eucharius von Castell, 1685-1697. 2 Kreuzer 1694, Nürnberg. R Kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön-vorzüglich (Bishopric of Eichstatt, Johann Eucharius of Castell, 1685-1697. 2 Kreuzer of 1694, Nuremberg mint. Minor minting defects on the edge, very fine to extremely fine.)"

The second specimen specimen is the second variety listed in Cahn and, among other slight differences, it has a straight base to the 2. This was lot 6855 in the same sale, where it sold for €156 (about US$183 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"EICHSTÄTT. BISTUM. Johann Eucharius von Castell, 1685-1697. 2 Kreuzer 1694, Nürnberg. R Sehr schön + (Bishopric of Eichstatt, Johann Eucharius of Castell, 1685-1697. 2 Kreuzer of 1694, Nuremberg mint. Rare, Very fine +.)"

The first specimen has a wavy base 2 and the second specimen has a straight base 2. The two kreuzer was worth half a batzen. The SCWC flipped the obverse and reverse images. The obverse has the arms and name of the bishop and the reverse has the name of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Mint Official Marks/Initials/Names: ✠ = Georg Friedrich, mint master and engraver at Nuremberg from 1682-1724

Recorded mintage: 282,000 (both varieties together).

Specification: silver, plain edge, struck using roller dies, the first specimen 0.83 g, the second specimen 0.95 g.
