This specimen was lot 40799 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. Zurich. 20 Batzen, 1826. PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder." Confederation coinage commenced in 1850; prior to that, each canton struck its own coinage. Twenty batzen equaled half a thaler; this denomination was struck in Zurich in 1813 and 1826 along with ten and forty batzen.
