Zurich 1677 1/4 ducat Fr-468
This specimen was lot 4646 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$451 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich, Stadt und Kanton, Vierteldukat 1677, Zürich. Gutes sehr schön. Gewellt. Exemplar der Auktion SINCONA 23, Zürich, Mai 2015, Los 3828. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, quarter ducat of 1677, Zürich mint. Good Very Fine, Wavy flan.)"
Quarter ducats were struck occasionally in Zurich in the seventeenth century. Tho not common, they are quite a bit more affordable than ducats or double ducats. This type was struck 1671, 1677, 1692 and 1702.
