The first specimen was lot 3659 in Sincona sale 70 (Zürich, May 2021), where it sold for 275 CHF (about US$362 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND | Zurich | Stadt und Kanton. Halbbatzen 1555, Zürich. Stempelschneider Gutenson. Unbekannter Rückseitenstempel mit der Umschrift: MONETA : NOVA . TVRICENSIS] Sehr selten. Fast sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, half batzen of 1555, Zürich mint. Unlisted obverse die with the legend MONETA : NOVA . TVRICENSIS. Very rare, About very fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 5608 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 130 CHF (about US$196 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zürich. Stadt und Kanton. Halbbatzen 1555, Zürich. Münzmeister Hans Gutenson. Selten. Fast sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Zürich, half batzen of 1555, Zürich mint. Rare, About Very Fine.)"

The first example has a dot after NOVA, the second example has a colon. This type is not listed in Numista.

Reported Mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver or billon, this specimen 1.83 g, the second specimen 1.74 g.

Catalog reference: Hürlimann vgl. 1006-1008, HMZ 2-1129d. the second specimen is Hürlimann 1010, HMZ 2-1129d.
