Sincona sale 90, lot 2618

This specimen was lot 2618 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$430 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zug, Stadt und Kanton, Rappen 1783, Zug. Silberabschlag. Sehr selten. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, canton of Zug, rappen of 1783, Zug mint, struck in silver. Very rare, Very fine.)"

This type was struck in copper 1782-85, 1794 and 1805. The SCWC does not mention the silver strikes.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: copper or silver, this specimen 1.17 g.
